Many, many full moon parties ago, we were lucky enough to be invited to the opening of Buri Rasa Phangan. It was a haven of sophistication and refinement on one of the most spectacular beaches in Thailand. Fortunately, little, other than the wine list, has changed since. In fact, our love affair with Buri Rasa Phangan has continued to grow as we come to appreciate that these bite-sized slices of heaven are rapidly becoming a rarity in today’s over-commercialised world.
Aside from being perfectionally positioned on the best beach on Koh Phangan, there are countless other reasons to make the dash across the sea from the airport on neighbouring Koh Samui. With no fewer than eight room categories, Buri Rasa Phangan has been tastefully created to be a crowd pleaser. And it offers exceptional value for money, given that all rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished with hues of turquoise and orange contrasting with polished concrete floors and bespoke rosewood furniture.
Buri Rasa Phangan is perfectly set up for families. The pool and the beach are within touching distance of one another, the restaurant has a kids menu and there are plenty of activities to keep the youngsters entertained.
Wander left or right along the beach and you’ll stumble across some sublime beachfront restaurants, resulting in a host of delicious cooking smells to whet your appetite.
