There’s a reason the Maharaja’s Express is known as the palace on wheels. It is one of the world’s great luxury train experiences in the world and a completely unique way to explore northern India.

The Maharaja’s 14 carriages exude old world charm and you’ll be waited on by discreet staff in distinctive crimson turbans while you enjoy stunning landscapes through expansive, panoramic windows. There are four categories of cabins/suites on board, all accompanied by a personal valet, en suite bathrooms and air conditioning.
The train’s two restaurants are the Mayor Mahal – named after the peacock which is the national bird of India – and the Rang Mahal, meaning palace of colours. Here, international cuisines are cooked alongside Indian specialities by a small team of highly skilled chefs using fresh, mostly organic ingredients and imported meats. And what better way to enjoy these delights than with the Maharaja’s gold plated crockery and cut crystal glasses as you experience a bygone age like royalty.
